PDP Table Read Series Kickoff

HPN hosted its first-ever PDP Mentee Table Readings on September 19 at the Covells’ home, featuring the work of two talented writers from the Professional Discipleship Program. The event brought together a group of actors to read the mentees’ scripts aloud for an audience, giving the writers an opportunity to hear their stories come to life in a supportive and encouraging environment.

The two featured projects were Quest Squad, by Lisa Tuholski, a comedy about an overly ambitious lady knight who finds herself stuck with a squad of misfits, and Sheboygan, by Marinna Martens, about a couple of surfers in Wisconsin defending their local break while navigating retirement and relationships. Following the readings, attendees had time to socialize and share feedback with the writers.

The inaugural event provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity of PDP mentees, hear their work brought to life, and encourage them as they continue developing their stories and craft.
