If you're looking for a writer's group, this isn't the place, but we're happy to recommend some resources to you. This gathering was created for fellowship and prayer. We spend the first half hour or so talking and getting to know each other. Then we usually have a question that we ask the group about the craft or business of screenwriting to foster discussion. After our discussion, we break up into small groups and spend some extended time in prayer.

They specialize in comedy packed with irreverence, witty dialogue, flawed characters, and self-deprecating humor. They also read and give feedback on a ton of scripts through their screenwriting community, Writers Spotlight. They've been hired to write multiple feature screenplays along with work doing joke passes and punch ups. When they're not writing you can most likely find them at Tinseltown Bible Study on Thursday's and Vintage Church in Santa Monica on Sundays.

Measure for Measure is a community of professional Christian music makers - comprised of composers, producers, songwriters, and recording artists/ musicians. Wherever you are in your musical career, Measure for Measure will welcome you. Generally, we gather quarterly for a time of food, fellowship, the opportunity to hear from a special guest speaker, and of course, prayer. However, gatherings can vary in location, purpose, and time of day.

JAMES COVELL began his career writing music immediately after graduating in music composition from USC where he studied with Morten Lauridsen. He has been working ever since scoring, songwriting, conducting and arranging in every medium. James has written scores for many feature films, including LEFT BEHIND, recorded with the London Symphony. That Soundtrack CD, and others are available on iTunes. Along with his work in film, James has worked for all of the major networks . Currently running is the award winning Netflix series “Beastmaster”. James has also written a full-scale musical play entitled A HOUSE DIVIDED and an Orchestral Trumpet Concerto. His other commissioned Orchestral works premiered with great success by the Denver Symphony. James lives in Valley Village, California with his wife Karen and they have two Wonder Wiz Kids, Christopher and Cameron who are both film makers!!

Service Of Song is a group for those called to minister through music in a Christian ministry setting. We welcome those who are interested in serving, as well as those who already lead or are part of a music ministry on vocals and/or an instrument. We gather in-person and virtually to encourage one another in our holy calling of leading the body of Christ in worship with our whole lives, as well as through music. Our gatherings usually include a time of fellowship, snacks, a teaching, and prayer.

Tim Kirsch is a Singer, Songwriter, Saxophonist and Spirit-Filled Minister in Los Angeles, CA. Tim began performing live music professionally in the year 2000 across the diversity of genres, then after giving his life to Jesus in 2008, focused primarily on using music to lead others into experiencing the transforming presence of God. In 2022, Tim signed with Emerged Music to release songs that strengthen others and point to receiving God’s love. With a pop/r&b inspired music-writing style, Tim is releasing the sound of living united to Love through the genres of pop, smooth jazz and Christian music.

2) This is a Safe Place For Sharing!
What is discussed in the group, stays in the group. Many of us have probably found ourselves in some very unique situations as actors in Los Angeles and we want you to feel comfortable speaking about any experiences. That said, if somebody opens up and needs prayer for a challenging or daunting situation, we are here to pray for that person and show support for the person's personal stories.
3) Are New Actors Welcome?
No matter what level you are at in your career, StageLight welcomes you! The majority of the community comprises actors who have worked in the industry for multiple years, and working actors will benefit most from these gatherings. This means discussions will be drawn from the highs and lows of working in LA for multiple seasons, and Bible passages and discussion topics will be tailored around this experience.

No. While many actors are hyphenated in writing, directing, editing, etc...The format of this group and discussion are related to the life of being a Christian Actor in LA.

Many of us have probably found ourselves in some very unique situations as actors in Los Angeles and we want you to feel comfortable speaking about any experiences. That said, if somebody opens up and needs prayer for a challenging or daunting situation, we are here to pray for that person and show support for the person's personal stories.
3) Are New Actors Welcome?
No matter what level you are at in your career, StageLight welcomes you! The majority of the community comprises actors who have worked in the industry for multiple years, and working actors will benefit most from these gatherings. This means discussions will be drawn from the highs and lows of working in LA for multiple seasons, and Bible passages and discussion topics will be tailored around this experience.
4) Is this group for anyone in the entertainment industry?
No. While many actors are hyphenated in writing, directing, editing, etc...The format of this group and discussion are related to the life of being a Christian Actor in LA.

Meet The Leaders
Jae is a three-time product leader and the founding Head of Product at Daloopa, an AI investment research startup with previous experience in finance and entrepreneurship. On the side, he enjoys working on creative projects and writing; he is the author of the First Love newsletter and the Script Editor of the play “Are You Listening?”. Jae’s favorite dessert is a home-made pecan pie by his sweet mother-in-law, and his favorite verse of all time is Romans 8:28.
Jalyssa (juh-lee-suh) has been a Creative Producer for 8 years across tech and entertainment and currently a Finishing Producer on Riot Games’ Valorant marketing team. She grew up in a Brazilian and Puerto Rican household in Ohio and loves games, TV/film, climbing, ship modeling, and Saddleback Church. Her favorite ice cream flavor changes depending on the day, but she consistently loves cookie dough. Jalyssa's favorite verse is Hebrews 4:15-16.

Meet The Leader
Jen Lewis loves Jesus, but He loved her first and He never lets her forget it! As a child Jen learned that she has a superpower. She discovered it in the back row of the church on Sunday’s. That’s where all the old people sat, and she could make even the grumpiest ones smile and laugh. She really loved helping people find joy.
As a young adult Jen started doing stand-up comedy when her sister put her on the spot in front of a friend who was a club owner. Turns out Jen liked it and went on to do comedy all over Orange County. At least until her marriage ended and her brokenness led her back to church and most importantly, back to Christ. Jen learned she could live in God’s grace, was convicted about the nature of her comedy and stopped performing, at least until her Pastor’s wife put her back to work, this time for Jesus! That door eventually closed but the seed of that season continues to grow in her heart. Now Jen Lewis serves the Upside Down comedy group through Hollywood Prayer Network as a prayer leader, coordinator and fellow comedian.
