House of David Season 2 Premiere Brings Faith and Film Together at Warner Bros.

Last Thursday night, something rare and beautiful happened in Hollywood.

The Steven J. Ross Theater at Warner Bros. Studios played host to a night that felt less like a premiere and more like a move of God in Hollywood, disguised as a red-carpet screening. Over 400 guests gathered under twinkling studio lights for the exclusive debut of House of David Season 2, hosted by the Hollywood Prayer Network (HPN), The Wonder Project, and the Faith and Media Initiative.

If you were there, you know.
If you weren’t, take this as your official encouragement not to miss the next one!
The night opened with the powerful mission video of Hollywood Prayer Network, articulating who we are, and what we do. God has given us a special and unique mission in Hollywood, and we don't want you to miss being a part of it! SEE 6 MINUTE VERSION HERE

Like all HPN events, the night began with community. From the moment guests stepped onto the Warner Bros. lot, there was a sense of belonging and family; like coming home to a community that gets it. Actors, producers, ministry leaders, influencers, and first-time attendees mingled under the glow of lights and cameras. Volunteers welcomed each guest with the joy and excellence that HPN has become known for.

The screening itself was powerful. The first episode of House of David Season 2 picked up with raw intensity, building on the cinematic excellence and emotional weight of Season 1. With visionary producers like Jon Erwin at the helm and a bold partnership with Amazon MGM, the series continues to break ground, proving that biblically-rooted storytelling can be both culturally relevant and artistically stunning.

As all of us watched the epic and sweeping shots cross the big screen, attendees and organizers were visibly moved. There were tears, laughter, silent prayers, and palpable moments of awe. With House of David Season 2, Episode 1, Wonder Project has spared nothing; gratuitously creating a visual feast of wonder by drawing viewers into a battle of biblical proportions.

Following the screening, HPN founder Karen Covell hosted a riveting panel with breakout star Michael Iskander (David) and Senior Development Executive at Amazon MGM Studios Traci Blackwell.

Traci, in a moment that left the room hushed, declared:
“The higher I’ve climbed in my career, the bolder I’ve become for Jesus.”

It was a statement that encompassed the very mission of HPN and other entertainment ministries serving the creative community. Industry professionals do not need to buy the lie of compromise - instead, faith, obedience, and boldness are ushering in the tidal wave of transformation that we are seeing seeing in the industry. And leaders like Traci are the tip of the spear, encouraging others to stand firm for their faith in God in Hollywood, and watch Him work through them to make an eternal difference.

Michael, too, held the audience in the palm of his hand! He shared the unforgettable story of “Puppy,” the lamb on set, and a supernatural moment where the sheep, by a miracle, followed the trail that Michael walked, holding a 'bloodied" Puppy the lamb.

“It was as if the sheep knew to follow the blood of the lamb,” he said. The room was moved collectively by the revelation that this was more than a cute behind-the-scenes story, it was a reminder that the fingerprints of God are all over in the storytelling process. It was a picture of how the Gospel message of Jesus reveals itself to each of us that are looking, and are moving with Him, to tell His stories in a real way.

Guests came expecting a premiere, but they left feeling seen, filled, and inspired! Not only was it an unforgettable experience to watch House of David in a historic Hollywood theater, on the iconic WB lot, but God was moving throughout the evening! We saw long-lost friends reunited, prayer circles that formed in the courtyard, and people of all walks of life connecting with one another. Best of all, first-time attendees became part of the HPN family, and familiar friends were reminded of the unique gift that Hollywood Prayer Network is to the Christian community in Hollywood.

As one guest wrote after the event:
"It was my husband’s and my first ever HPN event. We felt blessed and welcomed from the moment we arrived. We’ll definitely be attending many more.”

Another reflected:
"I didn’t even know events like this existed in Hollywood. It was a reminder that God is here in the middle of media, in the middle of our careers, and in the middle of our dreams.”

It was a joyful and inspiring night for all, and we believe this is just the beginning!

HPN exists as a bridge between the global community of artists and creatives that we call "Hollywood", and the global community of believers that we call "the church". We are events, prayer, and community for artists and intercessors alike, inspiring a transformed perspective to see Hollywood as the world's most influential mission field!

Last Thursday reminded us that God is not finished with Hollywood, and He’s raising up bold storytellers for such a time as this.
