Living Word Scripture Reading - 2025 Gatherings

Our Scripture Reading group gathered in November 2025 with 16 participants to read through the book of Proverbs together. Community member Caleb once again generously provided his translation along with printed booklets for each attendee, allowing everyone to follow along, take notes, and continue reflecting on the text afterward. The reading sparked rich discussion with participants sharing insights, questions, and personal applications. It was an encouraging and engaging time in Scripture, and we were grateful for the opportunity to learn from one another as we journeyed through Proverbs together.

Our Scripture Reading group gathered Friday, August 22, 2025 with 10 participants to read through Hebrews and James together. A community member, Caleb, generously provided printed booklets of both books so that each person could take notes during the discussion and bring their copy home afterward. The group was a wonderful mix of familiar faces and first-time attendees, and every newcomer shared that they hoped to join again in the future. The discussion was rich and encouraging, and we look forward to the next gathering.

On May 31st, the Living Word Scripture Reading group gathered for a reading of the Book of Daniel.

Eleven attendees enjoyed a time of food and fellowship, then took turns reading through this wonderful book of prophecy, dreams, visions, and incredible faith.

A subject matter expert on the book of Daniel was in attendance, and provided robust historical and biblical context to our fruitful time of discussion! The next Living Word gathering is scheduled for August!

On April 5th, the Living Word Scripture Reading group gathered for a reading of the Gospel of Matthew, in anticipation of the Easter season.

Eleven attendees enjoyed a time of food and fellowship, then took turns reading through the rich and captivating story of Jesus, as told by Matthew. The group was a wonderful mix of returning and first-time attendees, with a rich discussion of the text afterward.

On February 1st, the Living Word Scripture Reading group enjoyed its first gathering of 2025 with a reading of the Book of Genesis.

Ten attendees enjoyed a time of food and fellowship, then took turns reading through God's story from the very beginning, all the way through the story of Joseph.

Our goal with these gatherings is for everyone to be nourished physically, relationally, and spiritually. As "faith comes by hearing the word of God," we pray that everyone's faith is greatly increased by the act not only of reading but hearing God's word. The atmosphere changes as we read, creating an environment similar to an act of worship. The discussion times afterward are always lively and rewarding. We plan to meet every other month in 2025!
