Did God Say?

“Did God Say?”

By Pastor Tim Kirschenmann Jr.
“Did God say?”…This has been a common warfare strategy of the enemy from the beginning of our human existence.
God is one with His Word, and thereby very deliberate with each word He speaks. Jesus only spoke as the Father led Him to speak. He taught us that His words are Spirit and life! No word (rhema) from God shall be impossible (ref: Luke 1:37). His words have power to accomplish what they are sent forth to do. His words are so perfectly sharp that they cut right to the heart, revealing to us the difference between lies in our mind and the truth within our born-again spirit. We are called to live through every word that proceeds from God’s mouth. The just live by faith. We live through agreement with the inspiration of God, leading us into the fullness of life. His words are full of light and transformative power! They bring freedom and expose darkness! His words are pure, and bear witness with our born-again hearts. He wants His Word sown into your hearts!

The kingdom of darkness knows that there is immeasurable power to God’s words. The enemy of your soul also knows that humans have dominion, and thereby must cooperate in faith with God’s words to see them manifest. God imparts His faith to us. He speaks to our hearts. He gives us promises that we are to agree with, and have faith-filled actions of response to. It’s one thing for the word to be conceived in your heart, but it’s another thing to guard your heart and allow His will to be birthed through you. Jesus taught us that we actually have to keep believing if we are going to see God’s will come to pass. We reap if we faint not. His words are to be cherished, and held onto in faith.
The enemy of your soul often tries to cloak its words (of curses) as if it’s in the image of light, such as through false prophecy, false doctrine, or bad counsel through people that may even think they have good intentions. We are called to not lean upon our own understanding, or others', but rather, the Lord's! The enemy wants to get people to agree with its will, which is to manifest things outside of God’s will, and deceive us to abort God’s will. We must guard the truth of God’s word which has been sown into our hearts; whether the truth of the written word, or words that we know that God has spoken to us. Sometimes we have to go back and acknowledge how God confirmed His Word to us, and deliberately pull the weeds of deception out! Take care not to meditate on wrong thoughts that try to choke the Word of God sown into your hearts. Renounce the lies that rob you of hope. Renounce the thoughts and words that try to manifest anything less than His Kingdom being revealed. God’s words are like a rope of hope anchored into the right future. God will not cut that rope! We must lay hold of it! Even if we find ourselves letting go of hope, God hasn’t! We can turn back to agreement with God.

When we agree with God’s words, we have the peace of God that surpasses human reasoning. When we are passive or welcoming to the words sown by the enemy, we don’t have peace. Demonic seeds that find place in the garden of your soul wage war against your well being. You have to forthrightly respond to wrong words and thoughts with the truth of God’s will. The enemy of your soul is not passive. You can’t expect to not get bit with poison if you are petting a poisonous snake. If a snake comes, you trample it and cast it out! That can look like rebuking the wrong spirit and words through a person (recall Jesus rebuking Peter). That can look like taking every thought captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ. That can look like being like Jesus in the wilderness, responding with the truth of the word. Thankfully God’s word is like powerful medicine, obliterating all contamination. We can wage a good warfare through reading His Word, and renewing our minds with sincere promises that God has spoken to us. When we chew on the truth of the Bible, and when we give God thanks that He is fulfilling His promises, it's like watering the seed of God's word within you. That truth is like a sword against the weeds of deception.

God wants to birth His powerful desires through you. Don’t be surprised by the resistance. Don’t expect others to understand the “how” and “what” that God has called you to! Consider Mary and Joseph. They were ridiculed and not understood, but also got to be part of the most powerful birthing that will ever happen. They had to receive God’s leading through the birthing process, as part of God ensuring that the Word, Jesus Christ, was not killed. Don’t be surprised when people get hijacked, acting wise or spiritual, but are actually deceived to sow the wrong words into your life to try to abort God’s will. We meditate on God’s words, not words that come through evil spirits, or humans who set their affections on the things of this world. Like Joshua and Caleb, we believe and meditate on God’s promises, not the report of man. We want to birth the promises of God, not the will of evil spirits or deceived humans.
In this life, we will have battles, but God’s will is that you always receive His leading into victory over and over again. His will is to always causes us to triumph. Whether or not we know it, we are more than conquerors through Him. If you find yourself in a place of fear, confusion, uncertainty, etc… know that God is faithful and always with you, but you must sincerely give Him place to work in your life.

When the enemy is trying to turn it up, it’s not time to back off… it’s time to turn it up all the more, and put darkness in its place; which is, under your feet. You have the mind of Christ! Praise the Lord and get your right mind back! Devils flee from the presence of God revealed in true praise. If you’ve taken the bait of wrong thoughts and words sown into your soul, know that His Words are far more powerful to renew your mind, and thereby your perception, strength, and conviction in faith. Be aggressive to sow to the Spirit. It doesn’t happen by accident. You can expect an immediate turn-around when you turn to Christ. It’s God’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom, and make you whole. Take your time in reading the Word, and allow God to renew you. Take your time in sitting in His presence, and allow Him time to speak to your heart again, so that you are reminded of the truth of the Word within. Give Him thanks for His promises, and keep standing in expectant faith, even when it seems like everything and everyone else says “no”.

Then, if the enemy tries to bring confusion, you are ready, sharp and watchful through continual prayer/fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Then you are ready with the sword of the Spirit, where you can confidently know God’s will in your heart, and destroy the agenda of darkness with God’s word, which is His will, written and spoken to you. “It is written!”…
