Living Word Scripture Reading - 2026 Gatherings

The latest Living Word Scripture Reading brought together four readers for an evening of food, fellowship, and exploring four of Paul’s letters: Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. We also welcomed three first-time attendees, who seemed enthusiastic about joining us again!

As usual, reading Scripture together was a powerful experience, and the discussion afterward was excellent. Although these letters contain many familiar passages, it was illuminating to notice some of the themes and images woven throughout them. One attendee pointed out the multiple references to different kinds of fruit, which led to a great conversation about the fruit mentioned in Scripture and the fruit we’ve seen in our own lives through different seasons.

We also shared about what we've been seeing in our personal lives and what we'd love to see happen in the body of Christ as a whole. It was a rich evening of reading, discussion, and fellowship that left us feeling encouraged and galvanized for the next one! This was our last gathering of the year, and we look forward to continuing these readings in 2027.

The Living Word Scripture Reading group gathered in July to read through four books of the Old Testament: Esther, Ruth, Jonah, and Haggai. After a time of food and fellowship, the group of 8 dove into the intentional reading time, allowing scripture to speak to them as they read the stories back-to-back. The discussion time afterward was rich with connections between the four books, and reflections on what stood out to each person. As usual, the evening was enriching, uplifting, and nourishing - physically, relationally, and spiritually! 

Our Scripture Reading group gathered in April 2026 with 5 participants to read through the book of Acts together using the NIV translation. The gathering was rich in reflection as participants explored the early Church’s growth, mission, and reliance on the Holy Spirit. The group enjoyed thoughtful discussion after the time of reading, drawing connections between the experiences of the first believers and the life of the Church today.
