Dance for Joy - 2025 Meetings

This past Saturday, October 25th, the Dance For Joy crew hosted a vibrant morning of movement, music, and community that lived up to its name! From the very first stretch to the final cool-down, participants filled the space with energy, laughter, and joy.

The day began with a peaceful Breathwork & Stretch session, inviting attendees to slow down, center themselves, and prepare to move. Soon after, the room came alive during the Dance Party Fusion class, blending Latin, jazz, and modern moves into a high-energy half hour that got everyone smiling. The event wrapped up with a beautiful Contemporary Dance session — a perfect mix of expression, freedom, and flow.

In true community spirit, guests brought their favorite brunch items to share, turning the event into a festive potluck that fueled conversation and new friendships.

It was a morning filled with connection, creativity, and contagious joy — and a wonderful reminder that movement has the power to bring people together.

Our August Dance for Joy event was a favorite! It was hula themed and our instructor Christine did a beautiful job of teaching traditional Polynesian and Tahitian movements and showing how to incorporate them in worship. We were able to start the session out with breath work and stretching, and then was able to split up into groups and pray over one another. After Christine did an amazing job leading, we finished the night in praise and worship.

Our most recent gathering carried the theme of freedom—and that atmosphere was felt from the very first moment to the final prayer. Each element of the evening created space for God to move uniquely in people’s hearts. Some found deep connection through the breathwork and stretching, others through the dance segments, while many simply delighted in worshiping, praying, and being in community together.

We were especially blessed to have Arlene, a professional salsa dancer who leads a ministry outreach at her church through salsa dance. She guided us in individual footwork before incorporating it into partner dancing, inviting participants to step beyond their comfort zones. The joy in the room was undeniable as people learned, laughed, and leaned into freedom together. Arlene’s warmth, encouragement, and personal care made the night both uplifting and memorable.

On Thursday, March 27th, the HPN Dance Fellowship came together for a vibrant evening celebrating faith through dance and community. The gathering offered a welcoming space where participants connected over snacks and fellowship before entering a time of shared worship expressed through embodied movement and praise.

The evening’s schedule included a welcome circle and group connection, followed by extended worship through dance that allowed everyone to engage deeply with the Living God in a joyful and creative way. The night concluded with reflections and closing prayer, leaving attendees inspired and uplifted.

The HPN Dance Fellowship gathered on February 22nd for a potluck and dance gathering!

We had an incredible time at the recent Dance Fellowship Brunch—an uplifting gathering filled with good food, community, and powerful worship through movement.

Everyone brought a favorite brunch dish to share, creating a colorful and nourishing spread that reminded us of God’s abundant provision. We opened the day with potluck and fellowship, followed by a meaningful welcome circle where we connected as a group and set our hearts on Him.

As the morning moved into early afternoon, we entered into a time of worship through dance—offering our bodies in praise and honoring the Spirit's presence through embodied movement. It was a beautiful, freeing, and deeply joyful expression of worship.
We closed with reflections and prayer, giving thanks for what God is doing in and through this community. The love, creativity, and unity in the room were tangible, and we left encouraged and filled—physically, spiritually, and relationally.

Dance Fellowship is a collective of people who love Jesus and love to move. Through workshops, dance nights, social outings, and shared meals, we’re building a space where Christian dancers and creatives can grow in faith and friendship. This brunch was just one example of how powerful it is when we come together to glorify God with our whole selves.
