HomeBase - 2025 Gatherings

October

Our October 5th HomeBase was truly something special—one of our favorite gatherings yet! Eleven of us came together, and instead of spreading out, we all settled around one table for food and conversation. The cozy atmosphere set the tone for a beautiful night of connection and gratitude.

As usual, we opened with a group prayer of thanks and praise to God. But this time, instead of breaking into smaller groups afterward, we stayed together and continued in that spirit of thanksgiving. One by one, everyone shared an answered prayer—something God had done for them recently—and then we took turns praying prayers of thanks and praise for those answered prayers.

It was such an encouraging and uplifting time, filled with stories of God’s faithfulness both big and small. Focusing the evening entirely on gratitude—rather than requests—was deeply refreshing, and a reminder of just how present and active God is in our lives. We’re so thankful for the Holy Spirit’s leading that night and for the intimate, joy-filled atmosphere that made it all possible.

September

Our September HomeBase was a wonderful night of connection and community! We had a solid group of 24 people join us, filling the room with great energy and conversation. After enjoying food and fellowship together, we opened the evening with a group prayer of thanksgiving—lifting up gratitude for all that God is doing in our lives and in our community.

From there, we broke into smaller groups for individual prayer, creating space for deeper sharing and encouragement. It was a meaningful time of unity, support, and spiritual refreshment for everyone who came.

August

We had 21 people attend the August HomeBase gathering. A few attendees had been HomeBase regulars in the past but hadn't had the chance to return for a while! It was great to see everyone again. The community enjoyed a great time of connection and food before breaking into four prayer groups for the remainder of the evening.

We had a wonderful evening and look forward to the next gathering!

July

We had 25 people attend the latest HomeBase gathering, enjoying a great time of connection and food before breaking into four prayer groups. Two groups prayed for two hours, while the other two continued for three—reflecting the depth of conversation and care shared throughout the night. A handful of new visitors joined as well, invited by friends in the community.

One highlight testimony: Three months ago, a woman in one of the prayer groups asked for prayer regarding a new job, housing, and a roommate. At this most recent gathering, she shared that all three prayers had been answered—she found a new job, moved into a new place, and, in a beautiful full-circle moment, her new roommate ended up being another woman she met during that same prayer group. A powerful reminder of how God moves in both prayer and community!

June

On June 1st, HomeBase hosted its monthly gathering for Christians in film.

We had 12 attendees. Around half of them were "the usuals" and the other half were newcomers. We spent from 6:30-8:00 hanging out and eating. Then we broke into 4 groups of 4 around 8:15.

In the last few months, we've been starting off with a group prayer for 10 minutes where we all speak out prayers of thanks or praise to God. When we start with group praise prayer, it sets our hearts in a better place before breaking off into smaller groups for individual prayer. We're going to keep doing this, as people seem to really like it and we always get good prayer from everyone. The small prayer groups were very encouraging as well!

All the prayer groups all ended around 10:00, and then people hung around until 11:30. It was a good night!

May

On May 4th (Star Wars Day!), HomeBase hosted its monthly gathering for Christians in film.

We spent time in fellowship, enjoyed a delicious meal, and then broke off into small prayer groups, where everyone was able to share prayer requests and receive individual prayer.

We also reaffirmed our mission statement for the group:

HomeBase is a community group dedicated to Christians working in the film industry. Through shared meals and prayer, our goal is to strengthen, nourish, and build up the next generation of artists who are committed to both their career in film/TV/entertainment & to their love for Jesus.

Along with our shared love for Jesus (which is the most important), we want to be intentional about making this a space for people who are committed to their work in film, TV, and the entertainment industry. Our heart is to create a specific space for a specific group of people - aka, up-and-coming artists in film - so that we can cultivate a solid group who we can trust and grow with in our shared field!

If you discern that this is not the group for you, we encourage you to check out HPN's other community groups, or community groups at your local church!

April

On April 6th, HomeBase hosted its monthly gathering for Christians in film.

We spent time in fellowship, enjoyed a delicious meal, and then broke off into small prayer groups, where everyone was able to share prayer requests and receive individual prayer.

March

March's HomeBase gathering brought together industry professionals for an evening of community, encouragement, and prayer. Over dinner, attendees connected with both familiar and new faces, sharing stories from their work and personal lives. The night continued with focused prayer groups, creating space for deeper conversation, support, and spiritual encouragement.

February

In February, HomeBase provided another opportunity for members of the entertainment community to gather around the table, build relationships, and support one another in prayer. Attendees enjoyed a shared meal before breaking into prayer groups, where they were able to discuss personal and professional needs and lift one another up in faith.

January

HomeBase kicked off the new year with an evening of food, fellowship, and prayer. Entertainment professionals gathered to reconnect after the holidays, share updates from their lives and careers, and encourage one another as they looked ahead to the opportunities and challenges of a new year. The evening concluded with small-group prayer and meaningful conversations.
