HISTORY
In July of 2001, TV producer Karen Covell, founded the Hollywood Prayer Network (HPN) with the support of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. She believes that Hollywood is not “Sodom and Gomorrah” but “Nineveh” – it is a redeemable place, full of redeemable people. HPN is a grassroots prayer ministry led by Hollywood professionals who seek to build a bridge between the Christian Church and the secular entertainment industry in order to impact our culture through prayer. Over the years HPN has seen attempts to “change” Hollywood fail because Christians outside of Hollywood want the content of films, TV shows and music to change without praying for the hearts of the people creating it to change. We know that the content won’t change until lives are changed. HPN believes God is the only one who can touch the lives and hearts of the decision-makers and creative community in Hollywood and He will only do that if His followers humble themselves and pray.
Hollywood Prayer Network (HPN) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization seeking to build a bridge of love and respect between Christians in the Church and professionals in Hollywood, through prayer. We are committed to mobilizing Christians around the world to pray for the people, the projects and the issues in the entertainment industry, with an attitude of love. It is our passion to challenge global Christians to:

- and help transform the spiritual climate of Hollywood with hearts of love and compassion.
Whether you’re an industry professional who wants prayer and support or a Christian with a heart for prayer, we want to build bridges, light the way, and bring a message of love, hope and healing to an industry that dramatically shapes our world.
HPN believes that by mobilizing global prayer, we can be a part of God’s miraculous work of changing the spiritual climate of Hollywood, from the inside out. HPN invites churches, organizations and individuals across the globe to commit to pray for all aspects of the entertainment industry, including the people, the projects and the issues in film, television, music, video games and news media. HPN is committed to ensuring that our research, statistics, quotes, prayer requests and public relations are tasteful, accurate and non-judgmental. We strive to be positive and wise in our approach and prayerful in all our endeavors.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Hollywood Prayer Network seeks to identify, connect and empower Christians who are working in Hollywood and throughout the entertainment industry, uniting and encouraging them with prayer and community and equipping them to live lives that demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ.
HPN encourages and mobilizes Christians around the world to pray for the people who work in Hollywood and seeks to have every Christian who is working in the entertainment industry prayed for by individual Christians outside of the industry. HPN also coordinates prayer for the whole of the entertainment industry and the content being produced, as well as for the entire Hollywood community – that they would understand their value as children of God and seek to know Him completely.
VISION STATEMENT
The Hollywood Prayer Network envisions a time when Christians from all nations are united in positive prayers and blessings for the people who work in the entertainment industry and the projects that they are producing. We seek to develop a unified Body of Christ in Hollywood and develop disciples who are able to proclaim God’s love through their lives and their work. It is our desire that Christians who work in Hollywood live spiritually deep and healthy lives that serve as a positive witness to what it means to be a follower of Jesus, and that others would come to know God as a result of our interactions with them and through the work that we do so that Christians and the truths of Jesus Christ would be better represented in our culture.

Statement of Faith
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe in the triune nature of the one true God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ; and His imminent return to claim His church. Though we favor no denomination over another, we are followers of Christ, born again, working to cultivate the fruits of the Spirit in our lives and pursuing a more personal relationship with God. We believe that it is by grace through faith in Jesus that we are saved. We are dedicated to living, working and praying with our brothers and sisters in the entertainment industry according to the example given to us in the Bible, the Word of God.
