About the Group
Upside Down Comedy is a community of Christian stand-up comedians, comedy writers, comedy actors, improv artists, and humorists who love God and want to change culture with clean comedy that inspires souls and captures hearts! We meet every Tuesday of the month and could be working on a number of skills, including improv, writing, stand-up, and more!
Get to Know the Leader
Jen Lewis loves Jesus, but He loved her first and He never lets her forget it! As a child Jen learned that she has a superpower. She discovered it in the back row of the church on Sundays. That’s where all the old people sat, and she could make even the grumpiest ones smile and laugh. She really loved helping people find joy.
As a young adult, Jen started doing stand-up comedy when her sister put her on the spot in front of a friend who was a club owner. Turns out Jen liked it and went on to do comedy all over Orange County. At least until her marriage ended and her brokenness led her back to church, and most importantly, back to Christ. Jen learned she could live in God’s grace, was convicted about the nature of her comedy, and stopped performing, at least until her Pastor’s wife put her back to work, this time for Jesus! That door eventually, closed but the seed of that season continues to grow in her heart. Now Jen Lewis serves the Upside Down comedy group through Hollywood Prayer Network as a prayer leader, coordinator and fellow comedian.
