KWA SCREENWRITERS

The Hollywood Chapter of the Kingdom Writer's Association for Film & TV Writers

About the Group

Are you a screenwriter? You're invited to join our monthly meetup for a time of prayer and fellowship with fellow Christians. Make sure to invite your screenwriting friends!

Who We Are
KWA Hollywood is a once a month gathering for screenwriters of all experience levels to come together for a time of prayer, encouragement, and fellowship. If you're a screenwriter who feels like you're alone in this city or your craft, this is the place to come meet other screenwriters and lift each other up in prayer.

What We Do
If you're looking for a writer's group, this isn't the place, but we're happy to recommend some resources to you. This gathering was created for fellowship and prayer. We spend the first half hour or so talking and getting to know each other. Then we usually have a question that we ask the group about the craft or business of screenwriting to foster discussion. After our discussion, we break up into small groups and spend some extended time in prayer.

Get to Know the Leaders

Anthony and Kaylah Cantu, or just affectionately "The Cantus," are a screenwriting team and ministry leaders who have been writing together for 12 years and married for 11.

They specialize in comedy packed with irreverence, witty dialogue, flawed characters, and self-deprecating humor. They also read and give feedback on a ton of scripts through their screenwriting community, Writers Spotlight. They've been hired to write multiple feature screenplays along with work doing joke passes and punch ups.

When they're not writing, you can most likely find them at Tinseltown Bible Study on Thursdays and Vintage Church in Santa Monica on Sundays.
