In the style of “Lectio Divina” or “Visio Divina,” Sister Nancy Usselman and Sister Rose Pacatte of the Pauline Center for Media Studies led a group of 30 participants through “Cinema Divina”: a time of mindfully watching a Sundance short film and then considering the spiritual themes through guided meditation and discussion. It was a wonderful time of reflecting on the importance of gratitude, peace and contentment with one’s life as it is, and then praying that God would grant us gratitude. The time concluded in a Q and A with the sisters, as we discussed spiritual themes in films in general.
