March’s Prologue Writers Fellowship was a sweet and steady time of fellowship for writers across genres. The group gathered to connect, share life, and be refreshed in a supportive, faith-centered environment. It continues to be a place where writers can come as they are, build relationships, and receive prayer as they move forward in their creative journeys.

In March, we continued leaning into the theme of the Father’s love, and it was clear the Lord still had more to say. We spent time in 1 Peter 2:5, talking about what it means to be living stones being built into a spiritual house, and it led to a powerful and wide-ranging discussion.

We also spent time in the story of the prodigal son, reflecting on where each of us might find ourselves—on the way home, in the house, or outside striving. It opened up a deep and honest conversation, and there was a real sense of the Lord ministering to each person in a personal way.

March’s KWA gathering was another encouraging afternoon centered on community and prayer. Writers came together to connect, share life, and lift one another up, creating a space that felt both grounding and uplifting. It continues to be a place where relationships are built, faith is strengthened, and writers are reminded of God’s presence in every part of their journey.

Our March gathering was a sweet and creative night together, with 8 people in attendance. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we spent time singing the Irish hymn Be Thou My Vision, which set a meaningful tone for the evening.

We also played a really fun and creative game called 100 Blank Cards, where everyone made up and drew their own cards before playing—it ended up being a huge hit and brought a lot of laughter and connection.

We shared fellowship over dinner together and closed out the night with one-on-one prayer, taking time to lift up individual requests.

It was a simple but rich evening, full of creativity, connection, and meaningful prayer.

HomeBase went great this past gathering—we had 26 people join us, which was really encouraging.

We tried something a little different this time by doing men’s and women’s prayer groups instead of our usual co-ed groups, and it went really well. People seemed to really like it, and it created a meaningful space for connection and prayer. We’re considering alternating between co-ed and separate groups every few months.

As always, we spent the first part of the evening eating and hanging out, which continues to be a really sweet and casual time together, before moving into prayer. It was a full and meaningful night, and we’re grateful for how God continues to meet us in this space.

In February, we had two really meaningful gatherings. Early in the month, we talked about what it looks like to “hit a wall”—something that can feel especially real after starting the year with high hopes that don’t always go as planned. We spent time in Romans 5:3–5 and had an incredible conversation around how suffering produces hope. One of the questions that stood out most was, “What’s the harvest that awaits you on the other side of your perseverance?”—and it opened the door for some really honest and encouraging shares.

Later in the month, the focus shifted to the Father’s heart. It was a deeply meaningful night as we spent time in Ephesians 1:3–5, talking about sonship and how vital that is, especially in Hollywood. There was a strong sense of the Lord’s presence as stories were shared and walls came down. The idea of Hollywood as a “terrible stepfather” really resonated, and it became one of those gatherings where you could feel how much the Lord was encouraging each person in His love. It was a powerful time together and one that left everyone feeling strengthened and seen.

Upside Down Comedy had a powerful start to the year on January 13th when Apostle Dan and Sue Sherstad joined us. They brought an encouraging, impactful message and took time to pray over everyone. It truly set the tone for the year and meant so much to our community.

We kicked off February with a writing-focused meetup led by Robert, where comedians brought new material and received thoughtful feedback, it was such a strong time of growth and collaboration. We also had a very successful improv meetup with Joel McCrary that brought a lot of energy and joy to the group.

Mid-month, Pastor Dan returned and brought a message on how comedy, especially laughter, can be a tool for healing. It was fantastic and deeply meaningful for everyone there. We wrapped up the month with a crowd work session that pushed people outside their comfort zones in the best way.

It’s also been exciting to see what’s happening beyond our meetups. Several of our comedians have started new open mics, expanding their influence in the comedy world. Sarah continues to grow her Squeaky Clean Comedy brand, now reaching out to local schools and churches with her events—so inspiring to watch!

One of the most meaningful things has been how we’ve continued to center everything in prayer. We begin each meetup praying for one another, for Hollywood, and we’re constantly hearing new testimonies of what the Lord is doing in people’s lives.
People are being encouraged in their faith, growing in their skills, and our community continues to thrive and genuinely love each other well.

In February, Prologue Writers Fellowship continued to offer a creative and encouraging space for writers to gather. The afternoon was marked by thoughtful conversation, shared experiences, and a growing sense of community among those pursuing different forms of writing. Prayer remained at the center, as writers took time to lift one another up and find encouragement not only in their craft, but in their faith.

In February, KWA continued to be a steady place of connection for screenwriters navigating the industry. The group gathered to spend time in conversation, and pray for one another and the projects they’re carrying. It was a refreshing time of fellowship, with a focus on encouragement and being reminded that no one is walking this path alone. 

Februarys Entertainment Professionals Social was positive and encouraging, with several new attendees joining the regular group. Among them were guests who were connecting with the community for the first time after attending a recent industry event, as well as a creative professional who had been hoping to participate for some time and was finally able to attend.
During the discussion, the conversation naturally shifted to the topic of personal convictions regarding the types of projects creatives choose to pursue within the entertainment industry, and how individuals seek spiritual guidance when making those decisions. It was a thoughtful and, at times, complex dialogue. The hosts provided gentle facilitation to ensure the discussion remained constructive and unified, ultimately guiding the group toward a meaningful closing time of prayer. 

Our Stagelight Actor's Fellowship held their monthly meeting on February 5th. The evening was marked by meaningful fellowship, shared food, and an atmosphere of joy, with approximately 35–40 actors in attendance. Special guest Abbie Cobb shared about her journey as a working Christian actor in Hollywood, offering insight and encouragement to those gathered.
Attendees then broke into small groups to discuss what it means to place their confidence in Christ, creating space for personal reflection, sharing, and prayer. The group later reconvened for a final time of collective prayer to close out the night. Many participants expressed that the gathering was deeply needed and shared that they left feeling inspired, encouraged, and spiritually refreshed.

The HomeBase meeting on Sunday, February 1st was a success, with 25 people attending. The group overlapped with the Grammy party and the house had great energy during dinner and hangout time, followed by a smooth transition into five prayer groups that went really well.

Prologue Writers Fellowship kicked off the year with a warm and welcoming gathering for writers of all kinds. It was a meaningful afternoon of connection, as poets, storytellers, and authors came together to share fellowship and encourage one another. The time was centered on building community and covering each other in prayer, creating a space where writers could feel both supported and inspired at the start of a new year.

The Inbetweeners Animation Fellowship held their first meeting of 2026 on January 20th. The gathering was well attended, with 25 participants present. The group enjoyed a time of fellowship over good food, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
A highlight of the evening was a live Zoom interview with legendary animator Tony Bancroft, who joined remotely from his home in Tennessee. His insights and experiences provided meaningful encouragement and inspiration to those in attendance.

In January, KWA began the year with a meaningful time of gathering, as screenwriters came together for community, fellowship, and prayer. It was a great opportunity to reconnect after the holidays, share what’s been on each person’s heart, and start the year grounded in faith. The afternoon was simple but encouraging, creating space for writers to be supported not just in their work, but in their walk with God.  

At this month's meeting we had meaningful conversation and prayer throughout the evening. One person shared a request around being targeted by a phone hacker, and the group prayed both for protection and peace, as well as for the hacker, which was a powerful moment. We also spent time praying over the new year and the ways people are sensing the Lord moving in their lives. It was one of those nights where it was hard to wrap up because there was so much to share and pray through!

We also had a brief, spontaneous show-and-tell moment where a few members shared creative work they’re developing. One guest shared her music page focused on old hymns and their history, and others talked about ways they’re using AI video tools to help develop and pitch show ideas. There was a lot of excitement around artists supporting artists.

I never thought about it this way, but it’s so true!

The HomeBase meeting on January 4th had 16 people in attendance. They enjoyed food and hangout time, and started with an encouraging full-group prayer of gratitude for answered prayers. Then we split into three prayer groups that met for two hours, all of which went really well. Everyone was a HomeBase regular, making it a solid group overall.

As the year came to a close, Between Takes wrapped up 2025 with meaningful reflection and gratitude. The December meetings offered space for the men to look back on God’s faithfulness throughout the year—both personally and professionally—while setting their hearts on what’s ahead.

It was a month of encouragement, renewal, and deep connection among brothers who understand the unique journey of living out faith in the entertainment world. The group ended the year united in purpose and strengthened in spirit, ready to carry that light into the new year with boldness and hope.

In December, the Inbetweeners community—Christian creatives working in animation—came together in the Library at First Presbyterian Church Hollywood for an evening centered on sharing and celebrating creative projects.

Attendees had the opportunity to present their own animation work and creative endeavors, fostering a supportive environment where peers could encourage one another and offer prayer. Industry veteran guest speakers also joined the gathering, providing insight and inspiration to fuel the community’s artistic growth.

The night was a meaningful blend of creativity, faith, and fellowship—strengthening animators to pursue their calling with passion and purpose.

The final months of 2025 were full of laughter, learning, and celebration for our Upside Down Comedy community!

In November, we enjoyed a special workshop with Robert G. Lee at FPCH, where comics brought bits they were developing for feedback and fine-tuning. It was an encouraging night of growth, creativity, and plenty of laughs.

We wrapped up our weekly meetings for the year on November 11th with a relaxed evening of potluck, prayer, and fellowship, taking time to reflect on how God has been moving through this community of comedians, writers, and humorists.

Then in December, we gathered once more for our Annual Christmas Party—a joyful night filled with gratitude, laughter, and connection as we celebrated all that God has done throughout the year.

From stage time to prayer time, these last gatherings of 2025 captured the heart of Upside Down Comedy: building a family of artists who bring light, humor, and hope to the world. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead in 2026!

On December 13th, the Kingdom Writers Association gathered in The Library at First Presbyterian Church Hollywood for another encouraging evening dedicated to prayer, community, and craft.

This group, focused exclusively on screenwriters actively working on film and television projects, came together to share fellowship, enjoy food, and support one another through prayer. Alongside spiritual encouragement, writers participated in peer review and offered constructive feedback on each other’s work—helping everyone grow both creatively and in faith.

The gathering was filled with honest conversations, meaningful connections, and a shared commitment to pursue excellence in storytelling while honoring God’s call.

Each month in 2025, our HPN Monthly Meetups provided a welcoming space for newcomers to LA and the Hollywood Prayer Network community. Held on the 2nd or 3rd Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM in the Library Coffeehouse at First Pres Hollywood, these gatherings offered coffee, breakfast refreshments, and a relaxed environment for connection.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet HPN directors Karen Covell and Kelry Kirschenmann, learn about community groups, and receive practical insights and tips for thriving in the entertainment industry. Each meetup combined fellowship with guidance, helping participants feel at home while exploring ways to integrate faith and career.

These monthly gatherings were an easy and meaningful way to connect with the HPN community, whether people were new to LA, new to the network, or looking to deepen their connections in the industry.

In December, our Industry Fellowship Gathering welcomed entertainment professionals for an evening of connection, encouragement, and faith-filled community in Venice, LA.

The night started with casual conversation over small bites and drinks, creating a warm and inviting space to relax and catch up. Following this, attendees participated in a relaxed discussion to check in, share insights, and offer support grounded in shared experiences and faith.

The gathering concluded with a meaningful time of prayer, lifting up personal needs and the wider entertainment community.

These monthly meetings continue to provide a vital space for authentic relationships and spiritual encouragement—reminding everyone that we’re walking this journey together.
