Here are just a few ways that I feel we, as Christians, can be most effective when we find ourselves working as actors, or crew members on secular projects in Hollywood. I have also included a few other "habits" and "customs" that I feel God has instructed me to;

1st off, I think the saying "as goes Hollywood, so goes the U.S.A., is entirely true. Therefore, as Christians in Hollywood, we need to consider ourselves "strategically placed" in perhaps the greatest battleground for souls on the planet. With that in mind, we must always be "alert" in keeping ourselves of the highest standards in Gods word, in prayer, in weekly church fellowship, and always checking ourselves for any habits or lifestyles that would hinder our utmost effectiveness.

.....And to be PRO ACTIVE when we find ourselves on a TV or movie set. That doesn’t mean to be carrying around some big gigantic family sized king james bible, and asking everyone’s "If you were to die today....?"

but PRAY and make yourself available to be a witness to any person or situation that God will bring your way.

Instead of "Gospel tracts" which most people, I believe, throw away anymore, I like to prayerfully type out scriptures, and just lay them down here and there as the day goes by, trusting Gods holy spirit to use his word powerfully at just the right time. That’s how I was saved, and trust me, when it hits you at the right time, it can be EXTREMELY POWERFUL (as God says his word is!)

I also pray Gods word before I go on the movie set, that God's Holy Spirit will show up in a mighty way, that "the eyes of the cast and crews understanding will be enlightened, that they may leave knowing that Jesus is the way the truth and the life, and that they will "haply" embrace Christ. That’s right, I pray for REVIVAL on that set, that day! Why not?!? we serve a big GOD and we need to ask for BIG things!

I also pray that my performance will be of the utmost creative level so as to give glory to God, and that the spirit of Christ and of truth will emanate from my being, not only to those immediately around me, but to those who later watch on TV or film.....that "Christ in me" will rub off on them.....Have you ever seen a person on TV or in real life whose very presence "reeks" of something dark? Well, how much more is Christ’s spirit able to come out from us?!?!?!? and touch others in a very powerful and positive way!

Also, I like to pray daily for Industry people. I encourage all Christians to do the same. God has shown me very clearly to be effective in prayer, we must be specific. So I like to ask God to show up and be the "unseen casting director" for all shows and commercials and films at ABC, CBS, NBC. FOX etc....and that God will place RIGHTEOUS, GODLY, PRAYERFUL men and women as actors, directors, writers, gaffers etc....that ALL projects will give glory to God....

sometimes I'll pray over and name the names of films and TV shows that I know are about to go into production, and ask God to "do the hiring" for every project....

You get the idea.....Can you imagine if all of us started praying and interceding in this way on a DAILY basis? Instead of talking about how terrible and left wing and liberal and anti Christ Hollywood is? (As I find myself doing so much!)

By the way, when you need to find a place to pray on a busy set, you can borrow this idea; i hold my cell phone in my hand, and put my blue tooth in my ear, ands turn it off.  Then I walk around and pray. Folks will think your talking in your blue tooth....If someone says, "Who you talking to? Don't lie. Just tell them, "I'm talin to the LORD!".....

I can tell you another thing, I can guarantee you, from experience, and from Gods word, that if we will begin to take the time to really pray and witness for Hollywood in such a quality manner, that god will honor us and make sure we get our hearts desires as actors and directors and writers, because we would then be seeking first the kingdom of God.....and "all these things" will be less our agents problem, and more Gods solution!
