Atlanta Chapter of Hollywood Prayer Network

Atlanta has been called by many names: The Hollywood of the South, Black Hollywood, Motown of the South...even Dirty South. The entertainment industry has been hugely impacted in the areas of music, cable/television and film from Atlanta artists, writers, producers, directors, etc.

Christians are on the frontlines in many of these arenas in Atlanta. And ATL HPN is at the helm interceding and praying for Christians in the industry to be ambassadors for Christ in their various roles. ATL HPN'ers are also praying for the lost in "Hollywood" who need to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

With several film productions and film festivals going on throughout the year in Atlanta and throughout Georgia, ATL HPN is available for intercession, prayer walks, and other ways that make an impact for Christ.

Our Vision:

The Bollywood Prayer Network (BPN) is a non-denominational, para-church fellowship of believers in Christ, dedicated to providing Indian entertainment professionals in the film, television, fashion, arts and music industries with:

1) a worldwide network of prayer partners

3) edifying professional and spiritual guidance

A few suggestions on how to pray for Bollywood:

1) Pray that others would be encouraged to pray for Bollywood

2) Pray that God would call talented young believers to recognize Bollywood as a powerful field of influence

Welcome to the San Joaquin Valley (SJV) Hollywood Prayer Angels (the Fresno area chapter of Hollywood Prayer Network). We serve the entire San Joaquin Valley. Our goal is to unite prayer warriors here in this Valley with those who need our prayers in Hollywood.

About me and my vision for this chapter:

I have been a writer and Christian singer for much of my life (you can learn more about my ministry at www.LorieHam.com) and I have always had a passion for Hollywood. Being home schooled much of my life, and being an outsider when I was in school-TV became my best friend as a child. I grew up watching TV and old movies and they were a huge influence on my life. Because I know how much of an influence they can be I strongly believe it is vital that we do our part in influencing Hollywood with our prayers. I also know how difficult it can be to stand strong in your faith in the world of entertainment-it was hard even in the world of Christian music-I know those Christians working in Hollywood desperately need our prayers and encouragement to stay strong and be a witness to those around them.

So if you live anywhere in the San Joaquin Valley and want to make a difference through prayer-please contact me. My hope in the future is to have prayer days here in the Valley and maybe even take a group to the prayer walks in Hollywood.

Statement of Purpose

Hollywood it is not just a geographically location. Hollywood is all around us! It permeates our lives in one way or another.

My goal is to:

Unite the Kingdom of God and the Entertainment communities in the Islands of Hawaii

Create an ultimate understanding and appreciation of one another

Recognize the undeniable importance of praying for the generations, that Hollywood will touch for years to come.

The ministry of praying for the Entertainment industry was birthed in my spirit over 35 yrs. ago, in 1975. I am grateful and thankful that God used my mentor, Karen Covell, Founder and Director of HPN, to birth this ministry into the natural in July 2001. I mirror her powerful statement, “God is the ONLY one who can change the hearts of the people, and HE will only do that if HIS followers will humble themselves and pray.”

It is both an honor and a privilege to officially serve HPN, as the Hawaii Chapter Director since March 2008. We are being called together for yet another Eternal cause. My prayer is that nothing would keep us from being people of Ephesians 4:1-6, and that we would remain in unity ... locally, nationally and around the World!

"My passion and calling is to the performing arts, theatre and dance. It is clear, as we look at our present situation in Spain and Europe, for that matter, that we are living in a post Christian society, in the midst of a culture that has already lost all interest in the need to have some kind of moral and spiritual values, and therefore is no longer able to discern between good and sound entertainment and something which is not even worth a minute of our time. The shallowness, frivolity and immorality which has been so much part of the popular media as well as the cultural and artistic movements of our time, has clearly contributed to the erosion of good values in modern European society. International Christian Short Film and Art Design Festival 2009 - Mayaguez, Mayaguez

The International Christian Short Film and Art Design Festival 2009, will be held on the 20th and 21st of November 2009, at the Yaguez Theatre in Mayaguez and is a festival that is completely free of charge to participants and visitors to the festival. Artists and filmmakers are invited to forward their work for display, and the theme for this years’ event is family, biblical values and social interest. Visitors to the festival can look forward to see breathtaking drawings, paintings, sculptures and thought provoking short films. The festival is a celebration of art in Puerto Rico and across the world and is supported by artists from a variety of different countries.

Director:

Alexandra Bekiaris, born and raised in Melbourne Australia, started her journey in film after God had specifically spoken to her about the importance of breaking down walls in Hollywood and the use of media to be used as a medium to bring in the harvest.

She was given a vision to start a company called East Wind Films, with co- founding partner Cathleen Cassagne.

Hollywood at that time seemed like the most likely place she wanted to go to, but it was a significant place to try to impact the hearts of people and have them return to Christ. Also, it was a place where she felt that "The East Wind" would have to blow, prophetic of change and Gods Glory. So a Bridge was being built from Australia to the Nation of America.

"We had seen what appeared to be a dark, desperate place, whilst we were there, it seemed that there needed to be a reformation in the hearts of the media and we were sent there on a mission" She states.

"We have had to get the church to understand that it is important to take back this land for Gods Glory.
Today, here in Australia we are beginning to see greater change than we did 7 years ago and that impact that we believe will just grow in the industry of film and Art. Jesus is very creative and colorful."

Her stand is to impact society into understanding our creative, God and his beauty through media and film. That Jesus is not on the cross and that he is dead, but he is alive and living and wonderful and is here with us today demonstrating that through the power of art, music and film.

Being apart of "The Hollywood prayer Network, will keep us linked to the other pearls and together we will see the land taken back in Media, it's so exciting!"

Working also with street children and the youth, in Melbourne specifically, she is excited to have people understand this vital ingredient of media and art and the reality of Christ.

BIO:

Angus started his film career as a production runner at 14 years of age. At the age of 16, he got his first agent, then four years later, completed the “Actor Prepares” course at Sydney‟s Actors‟ Centre. Straight out of acting school, he landed the lead role as Lex in an Australian feature film, Lex and Rory. He then went on to a regular role in the Australian TV soap series E- Street. Angus has had several lead roles in TV commercials both in NZ and Australia. He recently worked on two television pilots screened on TV2 (“Oswald Gold: Australia‟s #1 Self-Improvement Expert “ and “Liberation Force”), as well as on the 48-hour Film Challenge, in which he won Best Actor in the Christchurch finals in 2005. Angus has also worked extensively behind the camera as a producer, director and screenwriter and has produced and shot several local and national TV commercials. He advanced to the Second Round Division in the Austin Film Festival for one of his original un-produced screenplays entitled Motorvation. Angus co-produced (and was 2nd unit director) on the feature film Meet me in Miami that is now being released through the US via the “Lift up America” charity campaign. In 2006/7 Angus co-directed, acted and produced the feature film “Wait up Harriet” that was shot in just 10 days, the film is being released via DVD in the US by Echelon Studios in January 2008 and theatrically in New Zealand. It is also being released on Cable channels through out the world. In April 2008 Angus spoke at the Gideon film conference in North Carolina, one of the two international guest at this prestigious event with the other speakers include the creator of Movie Guide.org, the producer of Amazing Grace and the creator of Veggie Tales. In conjunction to the production side Angus manages the distribution of Feature films through Life films and Life Cinema in New Zealand and has managed such films in theatrical release as “One night with the King‟, and End of the Spear and in 2008 will be releasing the 10 Commandments.
