The 36th Annual Bakersfield Prayer Breakfast was a success. Our very own Karen Covell was the keynote speaker at the event. Thanksgiving Blanket Drive

By | Events | No Comments

This years blanket drive was a great success! A team of HPN volunteers donated over 50+ blankets to young children and families on Skid Row, in the heart of downtown L.A. Thank you to everyone who donated blankets. You made an eternal difference to our young homeless. Many thanks to the Peggy Beatrice Foundation for inviting us to partner with you!

HPN wants our community to be a part of a CHILD’S BLANKET GIVE-AWAY this Thanksgiving, 2015!

Join the entertainment community in warming the lives of homeless children in LA. Donate a new or nearly new cozy, kids blanket. We will be collecting the blankets to give away this Thanksgiving Day in TWO locations:

•  At the Westside Thanksgiving Feast in West LA
and
•  At the Peggy Beatrice Foundation Thanksgiving gathering

If you would like to donate a blanket, please contact us at veronica@hpnemail.org and we will coordinate you getting the blankets to us or to have you deliver them yourself. If you would also want to donate monetarily, please fill out the payment form below!  And tell your friends.  This is a wonderful and easy way to help the less fortunate, to bring joy to a child, and to make a difference in our city!

10 Days Hollywood 2015

10 Days of Prayer – Hollywood

Sept. 13th – 23rd

Gatherings of Hope for our City, our Entertainment Industry & our Jewish Community

10 Days is an annual opportunity for the Body of Christ in your area to step away from normal routines of daily life and enter into an extended time of experiencing God together through worship, prayer, fasting, and fellowship.  It’s a way for all the believers in your city to unite with Jesus at the center. It’s rooted in the 10 Days between the biblical Feasts of Trumpets, Rosh Hashanah, and the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, celebrating these Jewish Holidays. For more info on the national 10 Days of Prayer, click here!

The vision of “10 Days of Prayer – Hollywood” is to unite the body of Christ in Hollywood, for 10 days, to lift up the city of Los Angeles, the entertainment industry and the Jewish community in prayer. We want churches to come together and gather as one in the Spirit! If your church or ministry would like to host a night of prayer, please contact Karen at karen@hpnemail.org.

TESTIMONIALS FROM THE GATHERINGS:

"We had an incredible celebration yesterday bringing in Rosh Hashanah with Jonathan, Sharon, and our Radiance International family: worshipping, praying, repenting, interceding, speaking and hearing from the Lord. Most of our Hope in the Hills family were in the house from 12-4 p.m., and a few of us were able to hand with Radiance all the way to midnight for the 12-hour burn/fasting/prayer. The last couple of hours turned into a full-fledged, packed-out praise party as we sang and danced before the Lord. Hallelujah! God met us on the Hill yesterday.

Also, the unity that we experienced coming together was extraordinary. We're particularly close sine our worship leader and a couple of our intercessors have all been launched from Radiance. so we're beautifully connect. We look forward to future times when we can worship and serve together for the glory and advancement of God's kingdom and love."

- Naima Lett, Hope in the Hills

"We had a great morning opening the ten days of prayer for Hollywood for the media/entertainment mountain as well as for Los Angeles. We cried out to God for deliverance and saving power for this next 10 days! We continue to hold on with everyone as we join in prayer! I feel the exponential power of "if one can take a thousand to flight, two can take ten thousand" that kind of force is released on our prayers as we pray and released as well to the city and people God loves! Happy New Year 5776 Shana Tova...the year God will hammer His world on the "vav"(6). Year of Shimetah too."

- Linda Cruz, Forerunners for Christ Church LA

"I was at Expression 58 and it was a powerful night of prayer, worship, communion and connection. We know God was moving there."

- karen Covell, Expression 58

"I believe the 10 days were significant in getting God's people to pray and worship. The Holy Spirit increased our desire for Jesus, and to see the ministry of Jesus manifested. Prayer and worship is like the Air Force that always makes it easier for the ground troops. Our troops happen to be actors, directors, writers, producers, and other behind the camera crew. We need more times of consecration like this. Being relevant will not be enough. We must go after the depths of Jesus to touch the depths of humanity."

- Ajay Samuel

"I spoke on Rosh Hashanah, the Day of Atonement and the importance of keeping our relationships right with each other. Then we prayed for about 45 minutes for LA, the entertainment industry, the peace of Israel our nation, our leaders, and the state of California. It was a great night!"

This Thursday, May 1st is the National Day of Prayer in America and the Hollywood Prayer Network is gathering the entertainment community to come together on Soundstage 2 at CBS Television, Studio City, from 7:30 – 9:30pm to pray, worship and celebrate our nation, our state, our city, our churches, and the entertainment industry in a night of unity!

“Everyone is LA is welcome,” says Karen Covell, Founding Director of the Hollywood Prayer Network. “This is our 21st year of celebrating the National Day of Prayer in our community and we have a great time asking God to bless our people, regardless of their own personal beliefs or backgrounds.  We want to see more unity amongst all people in our city and entertainment industry and this Thursday we’re asking God to do that!”

TracyThomasBand-altTracy Thomas Band will be leading the musical portion of the night. Tracy Thomas is an LA based worship leader, Christian Rock singer-songwriter, and recording artist. She released her debut worship album, “Before the Dawn,” in LA in 2010, and will be releasing her 2nd album this Fall. She currently leads worship regularly at Fusion As1, Ascend Malibu Fellowship, Expression58, and PIHOP. She also leads worship for conferences and Christian gatherings throughout California, as well as in parts of Canada and Europe. Along with her band, the Tracy Thomas Band, Tracy has been a part of pioneering a new wave of outreaches in nightclubs, and they have played their original worship songs at several night clubs in LA, including Whisky A Go Go, Viper Room, House of Blues Sunset, Troubadour, Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood, Key Club, Knitting Factory, among others. In addition, Tracy currently fronts the Christian hard rock band, Doma Carta, which will also be releasing an album this Fall.
