PRAISES:
- We thank the Lord for the wonderful and encouraging responses we've received from our 2009 HPN update email that we sent out two weeks ago. You are the BEST! We are praising God for all of you who pray, who support us financially and who volunteer for us, all over the world. Thank you, thank you. If you didn't receive that email from us, please contact Caren at Caren@hpnemail.org and let her know. We seemed to get blocked from Comcast and some others and want to make sure you get the good news. Our to read the update, click here.
UPDATES:
- Keep praying for Carl Swenson, who is still courageously battling cancer. We pray that he can have a joyful time with family and friends, while remaining in the hospital this season. There are also so many other members of our community who are fighting cancer, including Lori and Gordon. May the Lord intervene in our friends' lives.
- Please continue to pray for the many people in our industry who have not worked in quite a while, who are scared about finances this season. They are getting depressed, anxious, and even questioning their purpose. So many of them are trying to make a positive, eternal purpose, others are just trying to understand what they should do next. We want them to be filled with the hope and joy of the Lord.
REQUESTS:
- It's nominating season for the 2010 Academy Awards and screeners of all the top films of 2009 are being sent to union and academy members. Pray for wisdom for the voters as they decide what films they think should be awarded on March 7th.
- Please lift up Morgan Freeman ("Invictus"), his heart and his relationships. Morgan is a role model for so many young actors and yet, the fame and fortune of his success has taken a toll on his personal life. This is a common experience for all celebrities. We ask the Lord to lift him up, love him, guide him and help him make wise choices in every area of life.

- We must pray for Tiger Woods and his wife and children. God did not create man to be worshiped, or to have too much of anything - money, fame, power, or influence. No one can handle it! Tiger is world famous, he is worth a billion dollars, and yet he is only a mere man who has fallen. Let's pray that during his sabbatical, Tiger will find God's unconditional love that he will embrace His creator and Lord. As a global role model, Tiger can impact millions to seek Jesus, if he, himself, experiences God's forgiveness and new life.
- Pray for the many other "celebrities" in our industry who are falling morally, ethically and spiritually: Roman Polanski, David Letterman, John Travolta, Dennis Quaid, etc.... are trying to live their lives without any foundation of hope, guidance, divine love or truth. Let's not judge these people, but pray for them, asking the Lord to protect them from the lies of the enemy, the damaging effects of riches, power and influence and that they find redemption and peace in Him.

- Pray for Sandra Bullock, who's film, "The Blind Side," is breaking world box office records. The film impacted Sandra's life when she realized that the Tuohy's, who attend Grace Evangelical Church in Memphis, are real people who live out their faith in Jesus in a practical and life changing way. Let's ask the Lord to lead Sandra right to Him for she says she now has‘‘faith in those who say they represent a faith. "Getting to know Leigh Anne Tuohy, she says, showed her that religious faith can be authentic.' She was so open and honest and forthright," Sandra shares, "and I said, wow, I finally met someone who practices but doesn't preach." Let's also pray for the Tuohy's, especially Leigh Anne and her son, Michael Oher, to have wisdom with the pressures of their new fame and media frenzy.
- Let's pray for the many industry professionals who are alone or lonely this Christmas (or Hanukkah). May the Lord reach out to them with loving people, and renewed hope, as they experience fear, emptiness, broken families, isolation and hopelessness in this month.
- Pray that the secular decision-makers and other professionals in Hollywood will become friends with solid, loving, Christ-like believers this Christmas. They are so protected from main stream America that they don't have access to the truths of the Gospel. They need to meet colleagues and friends who are sharp, talented, loving ambassadors of Christ.
REQUESTS FROM HPN MEMBERS:
- Bollywood Chapter: Pray for the presence of Jesus to be more present in the Bollywood film community. They are the largest film production community in the world and Davita and our HPN India local chapter are pouring their love, resources and contacts into reaching the people there with the love of Jesus. Let's join them with our prayers.
